Unfortunately, the reviews mentioning that the accommodations are run-down are accurate. I stayed in one of the rooms in the main hotel-style building, and it was disappointing. The room didn’t feel very clean, there were squished bugs and unidentified marks on the walls, and it had a strange smell. I can’t speak for the individual cottages, which may be nicer, but I wouldn’t recommend the main building in its current condition. The location is beautiful, with gorgeous beach views. Unfortunately, the beach itself was quite dirty, and I ended up with numerous bug bites just from visiting it, despite not experiencing this at any of the beaches I visited in Bali. Based on other reviews, I chose to eat at the neighbouring resort instead, which was lovely. Also worth noting that Bintang beer was the only alcohol available during my stay. On a positive note, the staff were incredibly friendly, kind and accommodating. The pools are nice, and the property has so much potential. Renovations appeared to be underway, so hopefully improvements are coming. I suppose you get what you pay for, as the rates are relatively affordable. That said, basic cleanliness should still be expected regardless of price. It’s a shame because the setting is stunning and the staff are wonderful, but the accommodations need some attention.
