Hartford Hall is lovely, the restaurant does high quality food and the drinks are good.
We stayed in a family room which has a double bed and a sofa bed. In general the room was good, it had a good shower and was a decent price for the quality however there were a few little things that could be improved upon. Mainly that the sofa bed was awkward to sit on as the cushions kept on sliding off, the selection of refreshments in the room were not great, (they only had Nespresso coffee which had no information on which pods they had left us and there were no decaf options) and the hot tap in the bathroom sink was absolutely scolding hot which is not great for a family room.
Cleanliness in general was good but we did had a dirty glass, a couple of stains on the duvet cover and I found a few small hair bobbles on the carpet.
The radio was a nice touch and we enjoyed that as I could connect my phone to it.
We enjoyed our stay but those little details let the place down.
This is obviously a very popular hotel and place to eat.
The room was very nice with a large double bed and tea and coffee making facilities.
I ate in the restaurant for an evening meal and breakfast. While the food was good, the staff were lacking a bit of courtesy and respect for customers.
When the food came over I was asked if these were for me, rather than asking if I had ordered a pizza, it came across a bit matey banterish rather than as a paying customer.
Morning service was without any pleasantries and a little rude, when paying I was told to hit the red button on the card machine , without telling me why. There was no please or thank you and a smile wouldn’t have hurt.
Generally a good hotel but the staff let it down with their familiarity and sullyness.
The staff were really friendly and service good. I stayed in the Lymm room which is very tired with paint flaking on the walls. No excuse in this day and age.
The room wasn’t fully clean but the small bed was comfortable.
