What a waste of good money. This is such an overrated hotel. It is ridiculously expensive. I had to change rooms in the middle of the night due to ongoing construction past 10pm. The breakfast buffet is $40 usd, in the states it would be $18 max (I’m American). The airport shuttle is $60 and it seemed justified when I was told the airport was half hour away. I was shocked when we arrived in under 10 minutes. I literally felt robbed. Even with the high price of fuel, the fee should be no more than $30. Better yet it should be included in the stay as it is with the majority of hotels that provide outstanding customer service, which this one dos not. Considering it is almost $300/night, a quick trip to the airport is definitely not too much to ask for. The best part of the stay was the massage from the in house spa. I’d keep looking. There has to be better spots for much less money in Blantyre. I was in and out for a flight and if back in this city, I will definitely stay elsewhere. If you like pretentiousness even from the staff, this is your spot. The few staff that do not have the air of privilege made the 2 night stay bearable. Thank you to those who did. Sunbird Munt Soche has lovely grounds and staff that are so attentive. If staying in Blantyre Malawi I would certainly book again.
