What I liked: - friendly staff - low price What I didnt like: - room was freezing cold when we arrived - floors were sticky - very strong smell of pinesol, or some other cleaning product - management would not even consider allowing a late check-out (after 11am), even for an extra fee, despite the fact that they had vacancy

Truly Old World charm. The windmill was brought over from Europe by the owners . The office staff are helpful and coffee bar is nicely stocked with refrigerated and heat able breakfast items. The rates are very reasonable. The Island is beautiful and full of history. We've stayed there three times in the past year.

Very kitschy, but it is so warm and welcoming in the main office area, only helped by the woman who checked me in. She was fantastic and went over the rules and things to know. She also let me know house keeping was available if I needed it at any point during the stay. We opted to eat at the mill restaurant just on the other side of the parking lot and it’s also some amazing food with decor just like the hotel. The room was nice. The bathroom had been updated and everything was clean. They put extra coffee pods in the basket. The beds are not attached to the wall, so they roll a little bit for those that toss and turn in the night. Overall, a pleasant stay and more affordable than any other hotel in oak harbor during the holiday.

We had originally booked for one of their cabins. When we checked in it was 35 degrees outside and high winds! Our cabins heater did not work after 30 mins of trying and waiting for it to work per management’s suggestions we were still only getting cold air from the heat that would constantly switch off every 3 mins.. we did manage to get switched to another room but we’re not compensated for the room price difference, the new room was very noisy and there was peeling wallpaper and mold in the bathroom and you could see where they had painted over the old mold and it was growing through and on top of the paint. Several rooms we walked past smelled of weed and the floors in the bathroom we so Sticky you couldn’t and didn’t want to walk barefoot on them. The shower pressure was fine but the water would switch from hot to cold every few seconds… I would not recommended this place ever to anyone coming in from town.

I have stayed here before, the room I stayed in this time needed some maintenance. Multiple holes in the tv stand which needs to be taller to see from the bed. the bed slides out from the wall while sitting in it to watch tv. AC unit cover missing and it is loud.

Could be a lot better with some simple upkeep. Caulking in bathroom was either dirty or moldy. Some of the continental breakfast tasted stale. Heater was either on or off, was not automated.On the other hand the bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were clean .

Cabin C we stayed was very old and dirty. Hair everywhere in the bathroom and mold. Not sure how they passed health inspections. I would not stay there again.

We originally booked one of the cabins, it’s a bait and switch. They looked cute and comfortable online but in reality it was beyond tiny and dingy. Good luck with the shower if you’re over 5’5”. They were nice enough to let us switch rooms for an additional cost. FYI, it right next to the air base and the jets fly right overhead. We would never stay there again. The front desk guy was the best part of our stay
