The Moxy is a hidden gem in uptown Oakland—hip, friendly, clean, and reasonably priced. The parking is in a secure lot across the street, accessible with the help of a security guard who lets you in and out. The only downside is the neighborhood, which can feel a bit sketchy at night which might surprise you depending on where you’re from. I chose this spot because I was attending a show at The Fox Theatre, just a few blocks away—super convenient! I really like Oakland; it has fantastic food, great entertainment spots, and a culturally rich, diverse vibe.

Lived in the neighborhood for years so was comfortable walking around and what not. The location is super convenient for a fun weekend. The property was super clean and the staff was 10 outta 10. Hot water could’ve been hotter in the shower. I would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay here and it happened to be the first Friday of the month so we enjoyed walking to the vendors and seeing the car show from our window. The bar area was excellent and I loved all the art and unique touches this hotel had to offer.

Clean rooms, cool lobby and bar area, friendly staff. Only thing that sucked that is not really in control of the hotel is the loading and unloading parking in front of the hotel. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.
