This os not the first time i have visited this hotel. The standard of food was terrible with limited options. Last year you had choices from a menu and the quality of the food was outstanding. This time you had a buffet menu resulting in a choice of belly pork or samosa steamed veg or pasta and potatoes. Pumpkin spice soup and a çhoice of two deserts this was first night the food wasnt very hot. Not worth £25.00 pp. Breakfast was lovely well worth the £13.00. Evening menu on second night another buffet menu with a choice of chicken in creamy sauce or vegetable pakora steamed veg pasta in a cream sauce and wedges pumpkin soup and chocolate gateaux and strawberry cheese cake again not worth the £25:00pp for luke warm food and poor choice of food very dissapointing dining experience compared to last year.

Would like to return soon

Stayed in a larger family room away from the waterfront, but very convenient to car park. Older style accomodation, but ha been well maintained and was very suitable. A good breakfast, plus bonus of a short walk into Oban city centre along the waterfront. Would stay again.

I paid £400 for two nights at this hotel. I have mobility issues and there wasn’t a lift facility for all floors. We were allocated a room that required going up and down stairs and a long walk to get to the room. The room was ‘tired’, the beds were uncomfortable, the pillows were ‘lumpy’, the shower was unusable because of poor water flow. The swimming pool was dirty and unusable in my opinion. The description of the hotel and facilities on their website was not true to the actual hotel facilities. Very disappointed that when I complained to the staff about the room etc to be told that they were busy and this was the only room they could give me. The hotel was quiet when we were there, plus I also told the staff that I had booked and paid in full a yar beforehand!

It was an ok hotel ,the only problem i had was the evening meals in the restaurant were buffet only ,it was a case of take it or leave it, i think it was due to the number of coach tours that stopped here overnight

I’ve been staying at this Muthu for many years now. The reasons for coming back have been the view, facilities and the ease of parking. Recently, the staff have remained consistent and I’ve found them to be polite, pleasant and happy to engage. We love the lounge area and the pool. Some updating could be done, but the rooms have the dated quirkiness which is appealing. It would also be nice if repeat customers were recognised for their loyalty. I’m not sure if Muthu’s systems allow for such tracking, Hiwever, another wonderful visit to Oban.

Clean & comfortable room in a beautiful building with a lovely sea view (paid extra for this, but not much). The bathroom didn't really fit the aesthetic (cheaply done up & out of date), but perfectly clean and functional, which is what matters.

I was warmly greeted by Stephanie and immediately felt welcomed. Check in was easy and we were happy with our room. It was exactly what we were expecting; quiet and comfortable. The breakfast options were tasty and satisfying. The location was also wonderful. We were able to walk to dinner and we got a surprise by being entertained by a pipe band out on the streets while walking.
