Other than an initial poor check in experience, our stay improved greatly. The other front staff workers were very helpful and pleasant. The location is excellent and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel for a beautiful stay in Oban.

Mixed review re cleaning. Some areas were quite clean, other areas not so much. Shower pan was plugged, water overflowed to the floor like a waterfall, not an exaggeration. Staff weren’t concerned.

Newly renovated rooms are nice, tough small but the views are stunning. Convenient location for earing and walking the waterfront. Not much parking but we lucked out. Nice place

Well located property with friendly supportive staff. When the listing states 'on-site parking' it should go on to state - for up to 5 vehicles. That said, the marina car park over the road is free 1800-0900 so public parking is not a major inconvenience.

Our twin room was quite small, but,clean and adequate. The hotel is centrally located, everything is within walking distance. The patio overlooks the harbour and is lovely to watch the sunsetting. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. I will certainly return.

Lovely hotel

We didn’t eat on the hotel as we only wanted a light breakfast and £15 each was too expensive for toast and coffee. The room was lovely and clean and we slept well. The staff were very helpful when we were blocked in on the car park.

Great hotel for the price

Dont be put off by the 1970s front of this hotel it is fantastic, location is everything for this hotel. on arrival we were checked in without any issues,found our room although on the small side it was was we booked, superking bed was clean the room in general was spotless (28) and we had a seaview. Bathroom was clean, all in all a great hotel. Only problem we had was our window wouldn't open and parking was a bit of an issue.

The carpets were very dirty. There is absolutely no noise deadening material between floors or rooms. The room we were in had an original window in the bathroom that would not close (noise, cold air). The shower was just bad... Even after staff showed us how to get the water to stay on, we could not replicate the process.

It was a poor experience, from the inability to use the TV (actually said no signal), to the windows not opening when very warm and the cold coffee from an insipid large boiler at breakfast that didn’t work. Poor cooked breakfast with little help from service staff. All together rather forgetful. Martin

Property was nice for what we paid, very convient location in oban and oban itself was lovely. Breakfast room and breakfast was delicious although a little pricey, but was a good feed. Room was clean and spacious. Only issue was parking had booked hotel as it stated parking available, unfortunately there was only 3/4 space then rest was public paid parking and was very limited as oban itself was very busy, if arriving later in the day this could have been a really issue. Bar also closed quite early which was a shame would have liked to sit and had a drink into the evening longer.

On the positive side the receptionist Ramona was remarkable. The location was very good and the beds were comfortable. However, the hotel had been poorly refurbished, with some parts really old and others badly updated; there were 16 steps to access the front door; the shower was so small you could hardly turn around in it. The decor was particularly unattractive with several different styles that did not meld together. Would not book again.
