Black Forrest beauty in the rough.

Staff speaks very little English and is not very friendly. No A/C or fans, one day at 90 F was almost unbearable in room, restaurant was worse. Next two days in the 60s were wonderful. Not an easy place to find. Grounds are well kept and relaxing. Rooms are clean, they did not service the room one day, but in fairness it appeared to be a misunderstanding with the maid who spoke no English. I would stay there again depending on the time of year.

This was our second time staying here and they are wonderful. Friendly owners and staff and the location is very easy to use as a base to do day trips.

We were very happy with our stay at the Gasthof Rose. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was quiet, but close to many interesting places visit. The wine trail is accessible by foot and goes into the vineyards and to wineries if interested. There is much in the black forest and Alsace Lorraine that is accessible, but we only saw a little of. The Gasthof serves a very nice breakfast that was included in the price of the room and a dinner that was not included, but very much worth the price paid. I want to say that the entire staff was extremely welcoming, helpful and friendly. They made us feel at home.

Excellent traditional "Gasthof" hotel

This is a lovely cosy hotel near Oberkirch. It's a bit out of the way but is very quiet as a result. It's run by a local family who were very helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious, with a balcony (which we did not use owing to the outside temperature!) The restaurant is also very good.

Beautiful German Hotel:)

Beautiful hotel and friendly, nice and helpful employees! Food was excellent as well! Our GPS was not accurate, so we followed the sign as we turned onto Herztal.
