Good stay

The hotel wasn't a nice area, staff was nice. My room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. However, I was eligible for three different upgrades and was not offered any and when I asked about it they still wanted me to pay a $50 charge. I don't know if there was a miscommunication or if I just wasn't explaining myself well.

It's a great Hotel in the Great area. I was eligible for a few upgrades but was never offered and when I brought it up they still won the charge me. My room however was very spacious, clean and roomie.

The customer service was not great from leadership. We requested housekeeping 9am in the morning and left the property all day. Returned close to 4pm and it was not done. We called and visited the front desk a total of 6 times before we got service, which was close to 8pm at night. There was trash left in the room and visbily unclean. When we escalated to the manager, Paula Lopez she was very dismissive, offered no token of reconciliation, and said they would check to see what happened. Never did she address any of the concerns we had nor care about the experience. Truly awful customer service.

Mickey mouse!!!

Our family trip was for 3 nights starting July 30, 2025. As soon as we entered the room, our son saw a mouse go across the room. Not knowing this, our first night there was a nightmare especially for my wife. She was woken many times by the sound of little critters in the living room and on the bed stand. She also swatted something on her shoulder over and over. She even heard scratching of the pillows. This all happened as we were sleeping with our 3 and 5 year old kids. Next day, it took the manager, Paula, till noon to get us another room. All the time without asking us if needed the service of the bell person to move our items or needed breakfast since we wouldn't feed our kids in the room. In the end, another family was placed in the first room that same day and we were refunded part of the first night and even charged resort fee, $12! Unbelievable! Not the way to treat others.

It's been greatly improved since I last stayed here a few years ago. It was nice to have a big room with living room and bedroom. 3 things that were objectionable: 1. Check in is at 5 p.m. which is ridiculously late for a check in. 2. You don't get room service unless you ask for it before hand. It wouldn't be so bad if there was anything to really clean in the room, but the room is so simple that it probably doesn't take more than 5 minutes. 3. The beach chairs are very uncomfortable.

I've been staying at the Princess Royale for 10 years. The room was clean. The only issues I had was the stove didn't work. And the shower curtain had a smell to it. I took care of it myself with some lysol disinfectant. I would suggest they try a different type.

The location was great. A bit removed from down town OC which made it quiet and less crowded but still walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The beach is beautiful. I especially liked the kitchen in the room for meal prep that saved our family money. The rooms are spacious. Bring dish soap and paper towels. I was surprised these weren't provided. And no house keeping. Our room was so sandy by the end of our stay and we had no way to clean it. Rooms are well maintained but the hotel overall is older and shows it's age. Overall I give it 3 stars
