I booked a “king bed with an ocean view” room. My view was of a wall and some bushes. The room was very small, looked nothing like the online photos. And even tho the website says free breakfast, there was nothing. Zilch. Not even a simple muffin. They also lock the exterior doors at night and found out the hard way. Went to get something out of my car and as I tried to enter the hotel, there was a sign saying it’s locked and to call a number. Well, I didn’t have my phone and nobody was at the reception desk. WHY didn’t they put the note on the INSIDE of the door so people know BEFORE they walk out?! Stood out in the cold, windy, rain before someone else walked out so I could get in. And this person was going out for a smoke and didn’t have their phone either. Who knows how many people get locked out of the hotel in the evening but this was so bad. And no staff are around. How safe is that? What about an actual emergency situation. Don't think I’ll stay here again. Not good.

Great hotel for the price
Our stay at Hotel Mar Vista (a hotel with new owners) was excellent, especially for the price. Although a little dated, the rooms were very clean with very comfortable beds. The front desk manager, Ali, was so accommodating and helpful. We also have a cat-which most hotels will not accept-but this hotel does with a reasonable pet fee. We will definitely be back.

Olympic national Park starting point
We only stayed one night, but it was very easy to get around to the places we wanted to see. Very convenient to walk to restaurants that we liked, even though it looked like it was on the street. It was quiet.

Broken hot tub
We have stayed here before. We love the pool/hot rub area. We book here specifically for this area. This time the hot tub was out of service. I have been having back issues and really needed the hot tub therapy. We would have booked at a different place if we had known.

Decided on Hotel for beach views & hot tub/pool. Wife has neuropathy & I back surgery, so the hot tub was a deciding sell on our stay. When we arrived we were told that the hot tub wasn’t working or pool. Wouldn’t have stayed if known in advance. Very disappointing! Being duped with out previous notice is shameful for this Mar Vista Hotel to do to Patrons. Will not stay ever again here.

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Mar Vista. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the morning there was coffee and individually wrapped pastries in the lobby. The hotel's location was also ideal, with easy access to lots of restaurants and a quick 5 minute drive to the beach.

We liked that it right on the beach and even thou we couldn't see the ocean from our room we could hear it all night long. The pool was nice, clean shower rooms, large area. But the hot tub wasn't working. For Ocean shores it was really nice and very affordable. Our room was spacious and clean. the bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean. Nice shower. We struggled with the TV, they offered to come do it for us but we opted out as we were already in bed just wanting to watch TV long enough to go to sleep. Lol nevermind we'll just listen to the ocean instead which was nice. Over all great place! Thank you!
