Nice charming boutique hotel

Cute place, very welcoming check-in, couldn’t have been nicer. Really like the aesthetic in the room - nice details. The tv is beyond me, can’t figure it out and no directions, but that must mean I need to unplug! Very comfortable bedding, dog fee $75 was a surprise but that’s ok. Overall a very nice place across from the beach.

I really want this place to succeed—the design and theme are fantastic—but the execution needs a LOT of work. A. More staff! To keep the cafe open, to buy ANY type of pastries in the am, to supply cups in the rooms, turn on all of the refrigerators before guests arrive. All basic stuff, but you add them up, and it’s a real bummer. On the positive side, the room was clean, cozy. The seal on the door was almost non-existent—so we had a nice ASMR water feature to lull us to sleep. Good luck—I really do hope you make it, because a lot of effort and love obviously went into the place. 🤘🤘

I’ll start out with the positives. The hotel is very close to the ocean. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The rooms esthetics are simple but nice. I was given room 52 which was the second building to the right of the main building on the second floor. The balcony is nice and although not a direct view of the ocean there is a sitting area in the front of the balcony facing the ocean. It poured my whole stay so that was a bummer. Anyway, the heat did not work and I arrived late so I just went to bed and didn’t notice much because the bedding was warm. The next day it was freezing! I had gone to the front desk and they were going to send maintenance up but that never happened so I messaged the property through Expedia. They sent maintenance up who transferred me to the room next door with heat. He grabbed all the blankets from the old room and threw them on my new bed. Admitting he didn’t know how to make a bed and I don’t blame him one bit for that. I made the bed it was whatever. When I went to check out, I addressed the issues to the manager on duty and he just placed the blame on everyone else including another manager that’s out with cancer. And the woman ahead of me checking out said they didn’t have hot water, that was some excuse followed up by a compliment on her jacket. I expected some sort of reaction or anything other than what I got. Pretty disappointing

Want to watch TV, or connect don’t stay here!

We had no WIFI which would have been fine if their TVs weren’t Roku only. It was a rainy weekend and I was fine with settling in the room after supper, but it would have been nice to be able to watch some tv. The first night my husband went over, in the pouring rain, to see what was going on. I tried calling their phone number but had to leave a message. No call back. Stated it was a provider issue and offered a $25 bar credit. Second night WiFi was “fixed” but we kept getting booted from TV and internet! Had similar issue with their sister motel last year. Chose to stay here because it had been renovated. Closet was too tall to reach hangers. Poor design.

The staff was very understanding and accomodating when I explained this to them, but a note of advice to other travelers - the wi-fi is spotty at the moment due to a recent storm, and the hot water takes a long time to kick in b/c it's the off season. Not a deal breaker given the kindness of the staff, but something to keep in mind if you are planning to work from the room. Other than that - quiet, convenient to the highway, and always nice to see the ocean.

Stayed in rm53, this building is dog friendly and was perfect for what we needed. Room was inexpensive, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The room had a wonderful view of the rising sun. The Hotel staff was super friendly and welcoming. Visiting during the off season afforded us the opportunity to enjoy the sound of waves crashing at night and peaceful silence in the morning without the crowd and traffic noise taking away from the experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Not worth the price

We walked into the room. It was blazing hot. Looked around. There was no phone. No microwave. And only one chair that didn’t even look like it would hold much weight. The shower never got hot. Ran the water for almost 10 minutes and still no hot water. The door to the room would not latch shut. I had to deadbolt the door for it to stay shut. Overall would not go back here.

The day before arrival I was called to say they were closing due to unforeseen circumstances and was moving our reservation to a sister property. I told him I would go check the property out online and get back to him if that was sufficient. I called back several times over 24 hrs and no answer. We had this trip planned for several months and at last moment was unsure of what to do. We did still fly out because of not wanting to miss our trip. We were out at a different location that wasn’t as nice as the location we booked. We were offered no money back and was never able to speak to our location first booked.

HOPE ITS BOUGHT BY NICE PEOPLE

The person at the front desk was so rude and could not give me and my niece the time of day let alone greet us with a smile. Also, an OCEAN VIEW does not mean that I stand on my tip toes to see over the cars in the parking lot to a smidgen of the ocean. I would have paid more for a room with a true view. Also, apparently the noise hours didn't apply to those in the room above me.

Lovely, quaint, modern...and literally right across the street from an incredible walkway along the ocean. Even in off-season, staff is excellent and engaging, and property is immaculate. Clean, with a historical charm. Will absolutely recommend and hope to stay here again!
