What can I say about this "gem" nestled on the main thoroughfare in Okeechobee? Aside from a prime location, there isn't much to recommend. This Old Florida motel has clearly seen better days.
Upon arrival, the hallway to our room was cluttered with junk. The cleanliness of the room was questionable at best, but the functional issues were worse. The blinds were broken, allowing outside light to bleed in all night; I actually had to hang a sheet just to get some sleep. Ironically, that extra light helped because only two lightbulbs in the entire room actually worked. To top it off, the AC was broken.
I understood the "Old Florida" vibe I was walking into, but a $200 price point for a motel in this condition is outrageous. You expect—and deserve—much more for that price.
