We stayed 1 night with halfboard & couldn't be happier. The property is very picturesque with a nice garden & waterfall. - Great dinner in private dining room with helpful staff - Buffet breakfast was good with a wide range of quality food - Large bedroom with good beddings & aircond - Nice bathroom with separate toilet This hotel is at the top of our return list.

The young owners of this property are very sweet, kind and really try to be helpful. They seemed that had not quite got the hang of being proprietors, but they are very likable. Compared to other places we stayed cluttered with not quite the same and amenities. The owner was very helpful when we got stuck in snow bank during a snowstorm via messages. If you get a chance, listen to Echo play the piano

Classic Japanese interior with tatami flooring but more modern bedding. Walls are thin so be careful not to be too loud and disturb the others. I could hear the conversation of others when they walked by my door and in their rooms when I walked by theirs. Onsen was nice and has a small covered outdoor section. I went inbetween the peak seasons and you can see the the town itself asleep, so many shops were closed. I speak Japanese but the staff were quick to double check if I needed things to be explained in English. I wouldn't bring a big loud group here. I do recommend for a classic quiet, slow, relaxed, Japanese ryokan.

Clean room good staff and a couple of nice restaurants.

Great location in Niigata’s geisha district - who knew? Accommodation spectacular. Bathroom could use improved lighting. Other than that, beautiful accommodation with amazing staff.
