I am not a world traveler and by no means a critic but I have utilized my share of hotels and the Windgate by Wyndham in Oklahoma city is by far the least desirable of all the hotels I have ever utilized. Personally I would recommend all patrons to reconsider and search elsewhere. This hotels three star rating is generous to say the least

Our first room was not housekept properly. The trash can was overflowing, the coffee table and desk were covered in stains and filth, and the bed sheets were stained and clearly not changed out. When we alerted the front desk associate, he gave us another room, which was even worse. The instant we opened the door, we were hit with a strong wave of smoke odor mixed with an offensive chemical smell. It seemed that the previous guests smoked and tried to cover it with febreeze. The closet had a hole in the door and was stained disgustingly. Once again, the coffee table and desk were both stained and dirty. When we looked at the bed sheet, it had holes and stains underneath. We didn’t bother requesting another room, and left. Additionally, the carpet throughout the hotel was dingy, and the elevator was run down. The only positive experience we had was with the man at the front desk who apologized profusely, and was nothing but helpful and respectful.

Nice Hotel

It was a nice stay, and a nice hotel. My only issue was after a very long trip our room was ready by 1 pm but we had to mess around and do other stuff because we could not check in before 3 pm after even offering to pay for early check-in. The person at the front desk had just been trained so maybe that had something to do with it. Otherwise it was a nice stay.

The heater in the room would not turn off, the room temperature went to well over 80 degrees. We had it set for 62 degrees. We had to turn off the heater to keep the room temperature more at a livable range and manually turn it on when the room became too cool. No bath mat for the floor. No extra towels. No coffee packets in the room for the coffee maker. No plastic drinking cups, only 3 paper coffee cups, no lids. The neighboring rooms were loud with their conversations and banging doors until 4 am. The room shook every time a door slammed. The bath tub drain plug was unusable, so shower only. There was no diet pop in the snack room for purchase. One of the beds in our room was too close to the heater.
