Right on a beautiful sandy beach. My dog loved it and so did I. Room was basic, warm, wood floor with no worries about wet dog paws. Office had a books-and-DVDs library. Coffee and doughnuts. Pleasant people.
Very basic motel, obviously old and not in the greatest condition. When i checked in on a cold winter day all the windows were open. They had apparently just finished re-varnishing dresser and it wasnt even dry. So smelly that night it made my eyes run. Had to move to other bedroom and stuff a towel under door to keep smell out. Its true that this is oceanside but not much view from room as ocean is a ways across the yard a d down the hill. No bathtub just a shower.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
room was very clean, staff was friendly and knowledgeable, rain coming off roof was very noisy right outside our room.
Great experience and they were extremely understandable when we couldn't make it in time for check in due to weather conditions. This was my 2nd time staying there and I would definitely go back again.
I liked the bulk of elements. Staff (Josh and then Chad the next morning) were helpful.
Didn’t like - Television/monitor and satellite arrangement was lacking. If one wants to hook one’s own laptop via HDMI to monitor, one needs to get mgmt to come to link. Then if one disconnects the laptop, everything stops again. Couldn’t watch streamed channels either of the two nights as a result. That could and should be rectified. No other hotel I’ve seen has this shortcoming.
Amazing boutique hotel!!! Cutest thing ever! Beds are beyond comfortable! They have every item you could possibly need for your stay in the room, there than wine 😉! They even have doggie overnight bags for your fur babies!!! Can't say enough about how great this place is! And the beach is RIGHT there!
The staff couldn't be nicer--I thought I'd left my wallet behind, they let me come back in the room and helped me search. The King Size bed I had this time was VERY comfortable. I love the location, and it's great for my small dog.
Check in was very easy. Hostess answered all my questions. Would like for the hotel to make aware the military discount offer up front because the website we made reservations on did not provide the option.
We were very impressed with our stay, The staff is super friendly and the rooms are clean, comfortable and great for the age of the place and our pet was welcomed. The property has a great beach view and stairs to access the beach.
This was a spontaneous get-away to visit the ocean beaches with our little dog. We lucked out with clear skies: sunny days and moonlit nights. We love the Yachats area for its natural beauty.Tillucum Motel has been in existence for a long time and has architectural features from the 50's that we really liked e.g. the wall next to the tub/shower was largely thick glass cubes that let in the sunlight. It gave the bathroom an airy feel. The queen bed was comfortable. Other furniture included a collapsible table and a couple of comfy chairs. Small coffee maker, microwave and fridge...what else could you want for a couple of nights? Could easily adjust the heaters (wall) and electric "wood" stove. Our backdoor opened onto a large field with a path that led to stairs down to the beach. Hardly anyone was there midweek January. Could hear the crashing waves from our room. We took advantage of the extensive DVD and book collection in the lobby along with the donuts, fruit and coffee served each morning at 8 am.
The staff was cheerful and welcoming.
The only negative was a restaurant recommendation for seafood. We went to Luna's in Yachat's. Yes they have seafood but the inside is pretty rough and for two very basic fish plates served with very mediocre fries and coleslaw, 1 rootbeer, we paid over $70 dollars (includes tip)! We had to laugh. Inflation reduction has not arrived here.
We highly recommend visiting the nearby Sea Lion Cave. Quite extraordinary!
