Unlikely Incident
My son and I were evacuated from Sarasota and were staying in hotels while the flooding and debria was cleaned up. We paid $160 for the SpringHills Suites and unfortunately at 10:35 pm. At night we had a german cockroach in our room, I had to kill that ran out of the bathroom. They said they never had roaches and especially on the 4th floor. It instantly made us feel uncomfortable to be in the room. So we had to change rooms, with all our belongs at 11 pm. It was frustrating and they did their best to accommodate us. I was thankful of that and we moved to a 7th floor room. Sadly we wont be staying there again because of this issue.

Great location. Overall was clean. Beds were very comfy. Curtains blocked out all light at night The room had a musty smell when we first entered. Lighting wasnā€™t the best. It was completely dark by the closet area. I hated that the bathroom had no ventilator.

Overall the stay was great. Two things were not up to par though. First, I reserved a room with a walk-in shower for my Mom and we didnā€™t get it. Upon check-in, the person advised there was not one available at any time during my stay. Second, for a handicap room the beds are too high. It was really difficult for my Mom to get in and out of the bed without assistance from me even though she is capable of doing so on her own. The bed was too high for her. Aside from that, the stay was enjoyable and the room was clean. Staff was very welcoming.
