Oveson’s is the best place to stay in Orr. The pool and hot tub are closed permanently. But I didn’t go to Orr for that, there’s Pelican lake! Continental breakfast is good..cereal, yogurt, juice, milk and baked cinnamon rolls. The lodge is decorated nicely and there’s a sitting area with a TV, also tables and chairs if you wanted to play a game with your family. The mattresses are so-so and the linen is dated but clean. The service was excellent and one older gentleman was always so helpful and polite!

it was okay- felt safe. No pool. Pool closed for some reason - never explained. Cigarette burn on blanket... and on tub... seriously? why not get rid of blanket? Big hole in middle of blanket. The whole bedding situation- from the 60's? 70"s? a little updating is good. No daily maids... I had to ask for more toilet paper and towels... One guy at front desk was great... nice - attentive- but two women were the worst- barely even acknowledged your presence- lots of stains on carpet in room- come on! clean things up a bit- Pool was out service the whole time I was there- five days!! Boo!

The property itself is gorgeous. It’s right on the lake. However….. there is no bar/restaurant inside or connected to the hotel. The breakfast wasn’t a lot, just toast or muffins. Our first morning/full day there there was NO hot water and we couldn’t shower. Checked with front desk, they didn’t care or seemed concerned and said owner didn’t care. We were there 5 days and we finally received fresh towels our last night there. We still loved the place! The staff was very nice, lobby was nice and comfortable. It was perfect as it was close to the Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary which we were there for. There’s a family owned cafe right down the road that had great food, The Pattens. And a grocery store so you could grab snacks if needed.

Pool under maintenance so desapointing

The hotel is nice and clean however the pool was under maitenance and we were not aware. What a disapointment as we choose the hotel because of the pool and the view.

This would have been a solid place and my review would have been "shabby but fine" until there was ZERO hot water all morning. We stayed here three nights. One early in our trip and two nights at the end. Our room was clean if outdated and basic. It still had good value. There is a continental breakfast that is fine. The pool and dining room are not operating currently. Staff were pleasant but indifferent. Not problem solvers or especially hospitality-minded. There often isn't anyone at the desk and ringing the bell does not actually summon anyone. It's a very basic hotel on par with a cheap chain motel. Which would be fine but not having enough hot water for guests in the morning is inexcusable. I wanted to ask the desk when hot water would be available but no one was there.

Had a dock for boat. Could take boat downtown to eat. Property was probably really great in the day. Too bad it is run down and no longer in its prime. It would have been nice to have the pool, restaurant and bar up and running.
