We like the location of the hotel. It’s very near to everything at Dotonburi. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. Room was clean, neat and bright but was a bit small. We had a very pleasant stay and enjoyable time at Osaka. Thank you very much to all the staff of the hotel.😊👍
We had a brief stay at this hotel in Osaka. It was close to dotonbori which was nice. The experience was good however we didn’t realise the room was smoking and we could smell the previous people’s smoke. It wasn’t too overpowering but still unpleasant. Otherwise the hotel good it’s is older but has a nice traditional bathroom and a decent size. Amenities were basic but good.
Great for first timers to Osaka wanting to be in the heart of all the action. Although it felt as though we were staying in the red light district, so something to consider for young family’s or single women traveling alone. The rooms was as expected, a standard Japanese size (small) but it was clean and right in the heart of all the action and extremely walkable to all of the touristy spots along the Dontonbori.
We stayed 6 days at this location, they had asked us to schedule a day for cleaning on day 4. We went and packaged up all our stuff so things wouldn't obstruct the cleaners. The cleaners never showed up and there was lots of dust on walls and on top of air conitioning unit, therefore we gave it a poor rating with cleanliness.
Concierge did not provide secure luggage storage before our check-in time. We were asked to leave our bags in an unsecured room in the lobby with a large sign disclaiming responsibility to lost or stolen bags.
The entire building smelled like cigarettes. The smell was even stronger in our room, even though it was a non-smoking room.
Except for towels and soap, amenities are not provided in the room. We were expected to take amenities from a shelving unit in the lobby to our room ourselves.
Strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout hotel and in room. Toilet and sink both leaked, and toilet randomly made loud noises. Room conditions were unclean, lighting and ambiance were grim, minimal amenities (and ones provided were extremely cheap / poor quality). We didn’t feel comfortable staying and chose to check out early to stay in a better hotel.
Walking distance from Dotonbori, there is a seven eleven right beside, and a 10 minute walk from public transportation. Which if you have big luggage can be a challenge. The street in the morning looks like the next day of a hangover but it's because of the location. We found lots of places to eat around the are and the hotel room is small but comfortable. The cleaning is a 9 of 10 we found some places a little dusty in our room most of the corners. Bit it was minimal.
