Room was immaculate, even under the bed, desk, etc. Only problem was having to use two remotes to operate TV and never was able to find an Iowa station for weather, Iowa football (was on CBS!), etc. It would be nice too if there were a list of local restaurants, churches, sight-seeing "musts" etc (could tempt guests to stay an extra day AND night!) Tks!

Definitely not a 9. I couldn't give it a rating.

I don't like giving this type of rating. But how in the world did this property get a 9 rating. I booked on a wrong date but the hotel was very nice about changing the date without a charge. And we checked in while on that same call. However, after that I am not sure if there was anyone on site. The room was extremely outdated and everything was very old. I did not feel safe and I felt like I would be swarmed by mice. That DID NOT happen. But the rating on this room was so misleading.

Evergreen Inn is an older motel with all the basics needed for a comfortable night's rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were within a short walking distance of places to eat. It was also a very quiet location.

When I initially looked at the price I figured the place might be a dump. But then I noticed it had the highest ratings of motels in the area. All we wanted was a comfortable bed and a place to shower. That's what the Evergreen Inn is. No pool, no breakfast, no exercise room... Perfect! The beds were very comfortable, the towels were soft, not scratchy. One of the nicest older motels I've ever stayed in.

Step back in time!

We stayed one night on our way to the Iowa State Fair. Room was clean but dated. The bed had a distinct sag in the center, I spent the night rolling into my husband everytime I turned over! Check was at 4 pm when the front desk staff person opened up. She was quite friendly and very chatty. The only serious downside was finding some spiders here and there (shower and nightstand). Right on the main drag going thru town (Hwy 34). Easy in and out but you do get quite a bit of traffic noise. Price was surprisingly inexpensive! All told, we'd stay here again :)

We spent the night here while traveling Home. Nothing Fancy and a bit Small. But we were comfortable and slept well . An older Property but well maintained. Everything worked. Good stay for the Price.
