This is a lovely, no-frills spot to stay if you're planning to visit the ByWard Market area.
We were warmly greeted upon arrival and given actual keys (not a key card!) to get into our room. We had a spot on the 6th floor that overlooked some of the nearby buildings, and it was nice and quiet. There's a kitchenette, which is great if you have leftovers you want to heat up, or if you're just wanting to make quick and easy meals. (No hot plate, just a microwave.) We also had a kettle and coffee maker, both of which were clean and in great condition.
The Continental breakfast was tasty and there were a nice range of options: muffins, yogurt, some other baked goods, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cheese sandwiches. Everything was nicely seasoned and tasty.
This is the epitome of a walkable area. We were able to walk to the Parliament buildings in the snow (and there was a LOT of snow when we were here) in about 15 minutes. Some great diners nearby, and some shopping too...not just at the market, but there's also a Cadillac Fairview Mall about 10 minutes away; it has a ton of well-known shops (e.g., Zara) as well as a Simons. There's a great gaming shop near the Simons, too!
This was probably one of the easiest stays at a hotel we've had in a long time, and the big chains can't even compare in value for dollar, overall quality and hospitality. We plan to go back and have a proper stay again soon! Thanks to everyone at the Inn for making our experience so great!
