The upside of this hotel is that it is iconic. The location, the view, the walkability to all the tourist highlights in Ottawa made this a brilliant place to stay. I also very much enjoyed the food offering and the pool. Staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything required. Two downsides: 1) The parking. I had read reviews about the valet parking and expense but decided to take this on the chin to stay somewhere so iconic. Everyone was right - parking was annoying and expensive. I wish there was the option to self-park. 2) We fed this back as we left but the doors desperately needed to be sanded down. You had to slam the door hard to close it. Not only was this difficult in our room but I was woken up by slamming doors more than once! Overall, an incredible experience staying here but a couple of tweaks needed to reach perfection.
