First time at the Chateau. My daughter and I loved it and dubbed it the Ministry of Magic. Our checkin rep, Ady? Was wonderful as was the Terrace bartender who went out of his way to make my daughter feel fancy with his mocktail creation. Overall, I wish we had spent more time there!

Perfect place if you want to seethe museums, government facilities, and Rideau Canal. Lots of tours to take. Employees went out of their way to help you. My bed and pillows were a little to soft for me, but that may just be me.

This was the first time we had stayed at The Chateau Laurier. A beautiful hotel, providing an atmosphere of comfort and luxury from bygone days with all the conveniences of modern technology. Our well appointed room overlooked the Rideau Canal, giving us the opportunity to watch boats use the locks. We found the staff to be very polite and friendly. We did feel that the valet parking system was quite restrictive. We understood that should we require anything from our car once parked, a staff person would retrieve said item from our car and have it delivered to us. As we’d been traveling for two weeks our car was quite full and it would have been difficult to be specific as to the whereabouts of the item we needed. It would have been helpful to have access to our car. When we arrived at the hotel our GPS directed us and two other vehicles to an unused entrance of a mostly vacant parking lot behind the hotel rather than the hotel entrance.

The parking was problematic. We were led to believe that it was a 24 hour parking with in and out privileges. We arrived at 5 pm Friday, but needed to be gone by 3 pm on Saturday. That was an issue as we were at a show at the NAC and could not be back to get the car until 4:20. We needed to get the car and move to another parking lot for the afternoon. It was an inconvenience.
