Location was great, staff were friendly. Room was a decent size but a bit noisy. Windows should be upgraded and apparently carpeting is being replaced. The parking is expensive, pool/whirlpool was a big draw but why do hotels not enforce adults only in hot tubs? It’s not only annoying but dangerous for kids. Probably will not stay again but was ok for 2 nights.

I can’t say enough about the treatment I received on a personal level ! My husband and I were celebrating my birthday and from arriving with the all important valet parking to cleaning staff check in desk to the management.All amazing. There were 2 valet gentleman that went out of their way to wish happy birthday (which was our 2nd day there ) and one in particular that went above and beyond to help me find my husband in a stressful few moments . Unfortunately I forgot both their names but they know who they are ! I was greeted at my at the door on my birthday with a lovely young lady (Shakira ) singing happy birthday and handing me a shareable cake a card signed by some staff and lovely flowers . Thanks for making my 65th birthday stay at the Lord Elgin Hotel beyond memorable.

No wifi in room 434. Had to go out to the corridor or down to the foyer. No green tea available in the room and no kettle for making tea. The breakfast on saturday wasnt good I ordered 3 egg omelette and was given 2eggs with chips and american bacon The bacon was either very greasy or had lots of oil over it. I didnt touch it. The chips I suspect came out of a freezer packet

Amazing staff, venue needs a desperate renovation
I was staying a the Lord Elgin 2 nights for business and my wife had stayed there many years ago and I thought why not try it out. When I got there the staff were great, but the hotel is in need for a desperate renovation and revitalization. The hallway carpets are dirty from years of use and shredding while the hotel room windows are dirty and covered with the bodies of dead spiders. The carpet needs a good cleaning as you can smell the dust which is increased due to the air conditioning system that makes so much noise it gives you a headache. I spent a lot of time in the hotel room due to working remotely while I was in Ottawa and the rooms need to be deep cleaned. The restaurant was great. Staff amazing.

An Elegant Downtown Property, enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were pleasant, prompt and efficient. A short walk to the Rideau canal, the National Art Centre, Spark Street and the Parliament buildings. I would recommend if wanting a downtown location.
