Service during the stay was nonexistent. I was asked if I wanted service via text message and receive an automated message by text asking if everything was OK or if I needed anything. I asked for conditioner (none in room) and a couple of extra herbal tea bags (there was only one and rhe rest had caffeine and my son could not them). Simple enough. I had zero response. I asked at the reception counter, and I was told to just go at the bar to ask for the herbal tea bags instead. I explained the situation at the bar and the bartender proceeded to give me the TWO teabags (not infused, just tea bags for the room) and asked me to pay $10 tax and tip for them!

It was in the transition from Novetel to DT by Hilton. Overall it’s great. The check in with Hailey(?) was great. The only problem was the underground garage was under renovation so I had to park inside a mall across the street. The loading area in front was kinda small.

The hotel is great, but we didn’t really like Ottawa. We stayed for a couple of nights on a road trip. Staff at reception and in the bar were friendly and efficient, especially the Australian girl working in the bar. Parking was across the road in the Rideau Centre as the usual hotel car park was closed for work being done. Our room was clean and comfortable. Outside, the Rideau Centre is a new, modern shopping mall with a huge variety of shops and plenty of places to eat, but the rest of the main shopping area looks run down and tatty. It’s a short walk to the Rideau Canal and the parliament buildings. This area is much nicer - well kept and clean.

I wish rooms don’t have carpet since hard floor is much easier to clean and sanitize. The pool was small and busy for the size of the hotel. And parking was under construction so we need to walk a short distance every time which is ok if you don’t have bags with you and not in the middle of night. Otherwise everything was good
