The property is surrounded by large selection of fast food like McDonald’s, Popeyes, Subway, etc. The surrounding is quiet and the soundproof is good. The only downside about the property is that the air from the air conditioning would be directly blow to you and it’s really chill in summer. If you don’t like it then might not consider the place.

Sadly, the overall experience was unpleasant. I stayed two weeks and discovered that there’s infrequent cleaning service, not-so-infrequent fire alarms, no recycling service, and no supplies in the kitchens, not even for coffee or tea. The rooms are far away from the entrance and there’s only one way in and out of the residence. The communal kitchens I frequented were dingy and half the ovens were either missing racks or not working. The fridge in our unit broke down during our stay and I had to stay in the room to sort it out and wait around for a replacement in order to prevent my food from spoiling. Not something I should be expected to do for them while I’m on vacation. Also, the parking is ridiculously stressful and hostile to guests because it isn’t managed by the residence. You have to pay for parking separately every day so if you forget or delay then you risk getting a parking ticket. For long term stays you can get a parking pass but you have to go in person to the parking office which has limited hours and is closed on weekends. By the time you get to the office and pay for a pass you might have already been ticketed. If you do unfairly get a ticket you can either pay it or go through a time consuming and overly complicated ticket dispute process which may or may not result in its cancellation.

The kitchenette was not presented as a common work spot. It also had no appliances, no forks, knives, dishes, pots, etc.. The only thing available was the cook stove, one pot lid and one pasta strainer on the second floor.

Friendly staff, always willing to help. Loved the safe garden area and cool plces to sit. Very good price for basic, clean room and amenities. Great to have bus service at the front door for those who do have a car. Shopping area and restaurant close by was very useful. Room decor could have been better but I just tried to ignore it for the other benefits. Thank you for good service.

Bought Parking Passes & Got Ticket Anyway

A major problem is the people who run the residence are not running the parking. The parking lot is adjacent to the residence. Buying a overnight parking pass from the machine is confusing. We thought for $6 that we had gotten a pass from 6pm until 11am the next day. At reception were told it was the wrong one. And that because the city of Ottawa ran the parking lot, that they could not change. We said ok then get the right pass so we paid another $6 for the pass. Tee next morning we got and $80 parking even though we had actually paid for two parking pass. Reception of course said there was nothing they could do. Don't stay at Residences. And if you have a car, espcially don't stay. j

Building was extremely hard to find, staff were overworked. Parking was far from room. No cutlery plates or any kitchen tools. Just a fridge and a microwave. Bing your own everything. Feels institutional.

Air conditioner barely worked, the bathroom sink clogged the first night, power outage the next night. Hair was found on the bathroom floor. Faucet for shower was leaking heavily when in use.

This was a motel that during the year it is a dorm for the students. The security for this area is amazing. However, the room smelled of sweat and it was just funky. I mean for the price you pay, you got a hot shower, a bed and a safe place to stay.
