Clean and convenient

Nice and clean room and lobby area. Was there for a quick stay. Convenient area close to some restaurants as well as to airport and highway. Front desk staff who checked us in wasn't overly friendly, but the stay was good otherwise.

The only thing that was positive was the size of room was spacious and bed and pillow were comfortable as per the pool and hot tub was horrible the air circulation was bad and the chlorine was so bad it made myself and granddaughter nausea and our 1st night was quiet but the second night on the 6th floor was door banging from 11-1 am then men arguing about money and a women screaming at 4 am so not a very good night and having a 6 hr drive back home on hwy 17 is awful with no divide hwy after Arnprior and very few passing lanes and having a 90 km limit made the trip so long and the rate was cheaper on Expedia than directly with the hotel and no compensation for any of it. Will not refer this hotel to anyone.

We had a fabulous stay at the Sandman hotel with our dog. The staff were super accommodating, providing us with food/water bowls. We had some difficulty at check in but the staff were flexible and helped us resolve the issue. While we were only there for one night, we would definitely return.

I found the room to have hair in the sheets- I have stayed here 5-6 times with great rooms. Very disappointed and will question on my next trips to Ottawa. I also had an unusual noise that went all night. It wasn’t from the room but from the building

The only ones sleeping at the Sandman are staff

Booked two grand suites months in advance, phoned 8 days prior and confirmed. Arrived and was told they did not have the rooms I had booked. One of the rooms was downgraded and no reason given as to why my rooms weren’t available. Grand Suite furniture was stained and dirty which made you not want to sit on it (sofa and chair) I requested maid service when leaving for the day and when returning in the late evening it had not been done and at that point was too late to have it done. Hotel was listed as having amenities for you at front desk- when asked for toothpaste they said they were out on day 1 and day 2 that they couldn’t accommodate. Overall not a pleasant trip/experience and I wouldn’t recommend that particular hotel.
