6 week stay review

To put it into perspective I stayed for a total of 6 and a half weeks at this property. This was due to a university placement being in the city. So I think it’s fair that I can give a pretty good review. Firstly I want to say thank you to the staff that were there they were very hospitable and dealt with any concerns that I had or issues throughout my stay. However it wasn’t all perfect. Firstly they had to enter my room twice during my first week due to it being the only way to access the heaters on the roof and one time I was still in bed and they came in! They were very apologetic and compensated me for it. The next day I lost power so they then had to move me to a different room which was fine, but then 2 weeks later they then had to move me again and downgrade me to a room due to the room I was in having being booked up! I was very frustrated with this but again the staff on hand did refund the difference between the rooms. Another gripe I had was how poorly the kitchen was kitted out, it was strange it had 4 of every type of cutlery and utensil but didn’t have a simple thing like a frying pan or baking tray! Did seem a little odd to me and ended up with me going to buy one from Walmart, again not the end of the world for a short stay but for someone like me was very annoying. However overall the apartment was nicely furnished, even though it was cheaply done with floorboards not matching up correctly etc it was good for being on a budget as a student!

Sonder Arlo has a great location, between the Downtown Core, Parliament, the National Arts Center, shopping at the Rideau Centre, and Byward Market. The walls are thin and the traffic from the street below can be heard, so it is not ideal for light sleepers.

Comfy, central and easy

Highly recommend the sonder for anyone from family trips to business. It's easy to check in, rooms are spacious and come with a kitchenette, the luggage storage is super helpful and really quick. Not a lot of building amenities but for the price it's a great stay.

Love this gem in the heart of downtown Ottawa

Really close to everything! Walk to Byward, parliament and restaurants. Hotel has a coffee maker, kettle, pots and pans so you can save some money on a few meals and eat in at the hotel.

Convenient location-close to Rideau canal for skating, Sparks St, Parliament bldgs, Byward market, etc. Clean and comfortable unit. Wobbly table was a little annoying. Constant fan noise from bathroom and heating unit was noisy. Earplugs were provided but ineffective. Inconvenient to not have on site parking Overall a nice place to stay

Our stay was wonderful, the kitchen and the appliances came in handy and even though we booked the smaller room, it was still very spacious. Everything was clean and beautifully decorated. We noticed a small tear in the sheets but not a big deal, the bed was comfortable and we had a good night’s rest. The only thing is that the walls are very thin, but I think they realized this because we were provided with some ear plugs by our bedside table. The free luggage lockers were very thoughtful and we appreciated this as this allowed us to store our luggage while we went exploring the town before catching the train home, may I mention, AFTER we checked out too. We also loved the foosball table in the game room. The app made it so easy to check in, ask questions, and check out. We’ll definitely stay here again, and look forward to staying at other Sonder properties in the future!
