Sonder stay

I asked for an early check in which was around 9 am which was agreed upon by the person on the phone but when my gf and I showed up it turned out the note he made was just that I wanted to check in early but not at what time. So we had to wait in the hotel lobby from 9 am until 4 pm to check in ! Besides that the stay was amazing and I would come again (as long as the correct notes are made)

Suite was bright, clean and stylish. The building is in a nice area that's very walkable to pubs, restaurants and stores. I love the idea of everything being controlled by the Sonder app, but this worked better on paper than in reality. The door lock was often glitchy, taking a few tries before it would unlock from my phone. Sometimes, it wouldn't unlock at all or accept the PIN code listed in the app. I got on chat with Sonder via the app, and they took over an hour to respond to me. Luckily, my friend was inside the room and heard me knock in the middle of the night to let me in. The AC unit in our room broke in the early morning hours and we woke up to the room heating up. I also messaged Sonder through their app chat, and didn't get a response for over an hour. When they did respond, they just said "thanks for letting us know" with no indication on when or if they would fix it. Overall I liked the place, but these snags took away from our experience.

The facility as a whole was really nice. The service/support staff were very accommodating when we needed batteries for all of the remotes or more towels But the windows were really dirty. Some of the furniture in the unit was worn out with a lot water/glass stains. There were different peices of broken trim in the unit.

Excellent location for accessing downtown Ottawa and the airport. Lots of amenity within easy walking distance. Suite was clean and equipped with all the basics for a comfortable stay. However, very limited concierge service onsite and had to resolve a maintenance problem by using call centre assistance; over 7 days only saw someone at front desk once and number for text message assistance left on counter was not in service.

Excellent location, beautiful, clean, spacious rooms; found it took a while to get in contact with support thru chat, phone, and text - would appreciate more up front information re: early check-in policy and location of parking garage. Sonder app is also not great - kept dropping connection when I was speaking with support so I could not tell if my messages were going thru.

The first night, I had to clean my own room because it was not fully cleaned. The second night, I tried to extend my stay but instead my time was wasted on hold for 3 hours and I really wanted to sleep. I'm really displeased with my stay.

The pros: the building is safe and secure, although you are in the downtown area. The cons,: the apartment is a bit grungy, low ceilings , lighting is low, windows are small, the hideaway bed in the couch mattress was extremely uncomfortable. You could feel the frame underneath. The television system is set up for people only younger than age 30 , I couldn’t get it to work. It couldn’t watch local channels. You need a subscription of some sort. I go to Ottawa often. there are nicer, more modern like- open space type apartments for the same price to choose from. Surprised at Marriott for being connected with this apartment complex. I won’t be back
