Stayed here a few times now and it’s always good . My only problem is this year I had to pay £15 to park for 3 nights when all the signs said free parking for guests. Little bit confused on that. Couldn’t get clarification from reception as to why this was.
Hotel could do with a bit of a revamp and carpets on hallways could do with replacing or at least a good wash.
However this was a budget price and a budget hotel and inside the room itself it was clean and warm and comfortable.....ideal for the overnight stop we needed.
Booked breakfast the next morning on the morning and it was plentiful and tasty. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Whilst the staff seem friendly and accommodating, this hotel is tired and shabby. Threadbare carpets and chopped and grubby paintwork. Uncomfortable bed. Not an experience I'll be repeating!
The reviews are right about how run down this place is. Unfortunately the lack of care extends throughout.
In our room there were drink stains on the wall, goodness-knows-what stains on the bedsheets, hairs on the shower head and broken plug sockets. When we complained at reception we got a shrug. One person behind reception ignored us altogether, which we were later told was because they don’t actually work there. Which makes it even stranger that they’d been in the kitchen a little earlier.
Eventually we got a call to offer a 50% refund, which we accepted… though it didn’t actually materialise as 50% because they didn’t include breakfast.
It’s cheap, it’s in a helpful location, you’ll probably sleep ok. Just set your expectations very low indeed.
Convenient location as it's in a motorway service.
Staff are excellent. Gave us a different room, no extra charge. Corridor before our room has a funny smell, like something just been cleaned with bleach.
Room was adequate size. Used cups were still there. Toilet is basic, no a/c just a heater panel. Curtains wouldn't even slide open.
Overall our stay was fine. For a dated hotel, it's good but it could do with some refurbishing/update.
Would we stay again? No, not if we have another choice with a simmilar price.
Room 33 may need a priest in there to exorcise the demons.
Beds were comfy and big enough to through the bebo girl around on.
Waterproof matress sheets could have been provided...
Shes a squirter... noise complaints to her too...

Liked: Staff & service
Room no 37 was given to me. It is supposed to be executive room , but the fire door next to that room keeps on being banged morning and night, and past midnight and I get interrupted sleep and rest because of this.

I arrived and was told I had to pay £5 for parking, despite no prior notification of this, signage inside and outside the hotel stating “free guest parking” and when booking no mention of fees were suggested.
The room had dirty, dusty carpets and sweets stuck to them.
When I explained and showed staff about the parking fees and it’s obviously misleading, they literally didn’t care or offer any explanation.
On arrival, the room I had booked was not the room I was given. After some conversation, it appears they do not have the room I booked and it should not have been available to book. The corridor was very smelly, to the point that I was gagging walking through one particular section.
The room was comfortable enough, although there was some discarded rubbish on the floor from a previous guest.
There was a lot of noise from other hotel guests. It was obvious there were some groups living there and a number of screaming outbursts and shouting matches. This scared my children and they would not sleep without a case in front of the door. When the noise subsided long enough for them to get to sleep, they were woken by very loud repeated banging from the room above. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and we travel a lot!
