We had a catalogue of poor service from the start. My entitlement to free parking was queried by two people. I told them I don’t tell lies. We had to wait to check in when another staff member could have attended to us. We booked a twin room and were given a double. The slippers were missing and had to be asked for. One chair in the room had a dangerous broken leg. My dinner was only just warm enough to eat a some vegetables were cold. The fish was lukewarm and overcooked ruining a good piece of hake. Staff showed us to our table, asked if we wanted water which was not brought until a waiter turned up 20 minutes later to take our order. We were not offered a drink while we read the menu and had to ask for it when the waiter turned up to take our food order. Breakfast was ok with a good selection but the advertised eggs cooked to perfection weren’t unless specially ordered. Overall very poor for a supposed 4star hotel.

Friendly staff and a pleasant stay.

We used the pool and sauna/steam room several times over our stay. The area was reasonably clean but there are a few missing tiles and the changing rooms would also have benefited from deep cleaning on a more regular basis. The steam room was poor with no hose to clean down and inadequate steam. The sauna however was good though a little on the small side.

Voco oxford Thames

This hotel was absolutely fantastic, as soon as we arrived the lady on reception was friendly and helpful. We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary and little things they done really made it special, some chocolates for us, a few glass of prosecco with dinner and 'Happy Anniversary' on our dessert plate. Food was amazing and all the staff are so friendly. My only negative was that you have to pay for parking, which if we were close to the town centre yes, but there is nothing around. But this did not ruin our stay
