Stayed in the fireplace lodge king. Newly renovated room. Bed is big and semi firm. Water is really hot and decent pressure. Fireplace works nicely and keeps the room warm. Balcony is small but fits 2 people comfortably. Pillows are a tad small but it's fine. TV is new and works well.vaulted ceiling. Be sure to visit the fire place lounge at the cottage side. Overall bed was good to sleep on. Shower was hot. Fireplace was nice touch and mood setter. Room is clean. Staff is friendly. Oh and the coffee in the morning at the lobby is good.

We were disappointed.
This business is in a nice location. The room was large and the bed was comfortable, but we were disappointed to find long blonde hairs from a previous guest in both the shower and under the pillows. There was an ice machine nearby, but we were only supplied with plastic and paper cups for a hot or cold drink. We headed to the local thrift (charity)store and purchased some glassware which we donated back when we were leaving. There was a heated pool and spa which even had access for people with disabilities but my partner didn't pack swimwear. We felt the accommodation was not up to the standard for the price we paid.

Reasonable Rates. Made to order breakfast when you book some rooms! This property has been updated in the past and could be fantastic today if they would keep up on maintenance. They need things like touch up paint, Window repair, updated appliances, new soaker tubs (don’t need the expense of jacuzzi’s) fixing rotting wood on exterior trim. We would have booked the honeymoon cottage but - no tub? Nice place but don’t expect perfection.

The location was perfect for what we needed, and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately, our room was on the ground floor(more like an underground feel). Although it seems like there were some recent upgrades, like the floor, bathroom, and furniture, there were overlooked details. The screen of the sliding door was warped, and with holes, water was coming out from the corner of the shower door, and the lighting was not sufficient. The sliding door opens to a small patio area, but it's not private and has a view of the cemetery. They were fully booked; otherwise, we would have asked to be moved. It's possible that we were in that area of the property because we were traveling with a pet. I am not sure we would stay there again. We were unlucky to have noisy neighbors on the second floor, constantly running from one side to the other. Each time they flushed the toilet, you could hear the water going down; the wall lacked insulation. It was "reasonably" priced for the area but had more of a motel feel. There were two options for breakfast: Our room rate included a grab-and-go bag (juice, apple, bar, and a small muffin in cellophane). The second option is to purchase a voucher for $15 per person and go across the street. It can be used during a specific time frame in the morning. We opted to go somewhere else. There are plenty of places around, including Starbucks, which is 5 minutes away driving distance.

My friend an I enjoyed our stay at the property. It was incredible clean, the staff were very nice, you could grab a quick breakfast in the morning with them too. The only thing is that the property is right next to cemetery and you could see the grave stones from your room. My friend was a little bit shaken up by that but everything else was amazing!!!!

Not as advertised
The only redeeming quality was the location and proximity to the beach. There must be a big difference between the cottages and rundown lodge, because some of the positive reviews and photos on the site are not what we experienced. The room was on the “first” floor which really felt like it it was underground because of having to go down a set of stairs to access the room. It was dark and in desperate need of some TLC. Walls were scuffed and dirty, and there were some dead bugs on the walls. The fitted sheets didn’t stay on the mattresses and other bedding was just okay. The room backed up to a cemetery. And the breakfast they advertise was a paper bag with cheap muffins, a granola bar, a piece of fruit and bottle of juice. Honestly, we felt duped from what is represented on the site. Maybe the cottages are nicer but overall would not recommend and would not stay here again.
