We had a great time when all our needs were addressed by the hotel. Staff was very friendly, breakfast better than at most hotels, pool nice, and rooms clean. Great place to stay in Palm Desert!

Yuck!
From the very beginning, the carpet in the lobby and floor of the elevator were filthy! The staff was pleasant, but less than professional. The front desk staff continued their personal conversation while we approached them, stopping only after we stood in front of them at the desk. Throughout our stay, as we came and went, they continued with their cell phones and personal conversations and never greeted guests. The male front desk person (the first evening we were there) was so immersed in his personal dating stories that we could hear him throughout the lobby, up to the 3rd floor, and down the hall until we reached our room. The room (minus the filthy carpet) was clean. There were several maintenance issues. A towel rack was dangling off the wall and in need of securing. There was an active water leak from the pipe under the bathroom sink (with a substantial water stain that soaked the box of kleenex that was provided for guests). I mentioned it to the male front desk employee and his response was that there was no maintenance person available. Wallpaper was stained and peeling from the walls. The conditions of the common areas and room were not what I would expect from a Holiday Inn!
