If you’ve stayed at a CitizenM before you know what to expect. The bed is against the walls so one person has to climb over the other to get out. The bed, pillows and linens are superb! Our sink would not drain, therefore the low score on cleanliness. We liked the hotel iPad to control the lights, temperature and tv. The chromecast for the tv did not work but that’s ok, as there were many tv channels. It was fine for one night.

This is a unique boutique chain that is about sustainability and customer service, though it is also a do-it-yourself hotel, as well. The people make this place, as everyone made you feel welcome. The restaurant presents an amazing breakfast every morning, that transforms into a lounge the rest of the day. There were definitely a couple of big issues with this hotel. First, the rooms are small and compact. The bed, while large, must be entered to from the foot…they are built into the end of the room under the only window. For older adults, this is no joy! It is a tight squeeze under any conditions. Also, the location is really not good. I like the 12th for its local’s neighborhood feel, but you have to walk quite a ways past the Gare de Lyon train station (which heavily influence the feel to this part of the street in not a good way) before you start to feel why this was the reason you selected this part of town to stay in. I would not do it again.

Modern, but small and inconvenient rooms

This hotel is new, modern, and well located. More suitable for corporate travel, rather than tourism. The rooms are small and the washroom has a glass door, basically zero privacy. Everything is controlled via an iPad: TV, temperature, lights, curtains, and having your room cleaned. While the iPad idea is cool, for people who are not tecksavy it’s very challenging. And the fact that the room is not tidied up everyday and that you need to ask for the service via the iPad is very disappointing. I wouldn't stay here again, unless I travel solo. For more than one person it’s really annoying.

The room was extremely comfortable - great big bed with high quality bedding. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. My daughter loved the lights and high tech room. I'd deputy stay here again. The area is well connected by transport but feels a bit under construction and built up.

The property was very clean with very nice staff. They were always polite and cordial and always willing to help in any language. Breakfast was good with lots of good options-eggs, cheese, coffee, croissants, and many more items. The room is controlled by a tablet which i didn’t like. The TV as well but none of the normal American apps such as Netflix and Prime. Also none of the American news medias. This would be the only negative I would recommend they change as it is very easy. The bed was comfortable, ac was cool and the showers were hot. It’s by the Seine so if you walk the banks you can reach all the famous sites-Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, the Lovre etc. Overall, a good place. I would recommend it.
