This is a difficult re iee because the service, breakfast, breakfast room and location was was a 5 star plus. The room and decor was interesting. Decor was "heavy" and areas needed ipfrading, i.e. worn carpets, paintng. Hotel needed some "cleaning up" but it was warm, welcoming, clean and 5 star in many ways. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfectly positioned in the Marais, with its abundance of shops, cafes and restaurants, the Bretonnerie oozes old school charm and character. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful; my room was bright and clean. And it was a special pleasure to meet Guimauve, the hotel's resident cat, who ambles around as if she owns the place. Would definitely recommend.

You can’t beat the location. The Marais is a great area with plenty to do: dining, shopping, metro station, and going out for a drink. The staff is very friendly. The only thing I would bring up is that the hotel could use a bit of an update. The decor is not an issue, more so the room facilities. It’s quite uncomfortable trying to take a shower if you’re not accustomed to taking a bath; having a shower handle just hanging out is not conducive to taking a comfortable shower. And tv reception was not the best.

Location of the Hotel is convenient, situated in the heart of Paris, full of restaurants, shopping, walkable as well. Hotel staff is very warm, kind. Breakfast can be improved though.

Older hotel but decent sized room for two. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast value in the basement for 15€. In walking distance to the Seine, Louvre, Musee D’Orsay and Notre dame. We walked to the Eiffel Tower but that may be out of some people’s preferred range. We also walked to the Arc de Triomphe and Champs D’Elysee but you could always Uber or taxi for those from the hotel. Our room was a bit noisy for sleeping from people on the street but other rooms might be better. We stayed in 108.

Staff and property are really outstanding. I'll highlight the location. The neighbour is really lively with plenty of options for food/shopping. It's at a walkable distance from the river, Saint Chapelle, Latin quarter and Bastille. And there's bus/underground to go to the city centre, we took one bus from the hotel to the Eiffel tower and it went through most of the Paris highlights
