Excellent hotel, good value for a nice sized bedroom which was exceptionally clean and had every thing you could need (air con, kettle, hair dryer etc). Close to a metro station and plenty of places to eat nearby. The staff were friendly and welcoming, would recommend and would stay again

Fantastic Hotel in a Great Location

Hotel de la Herse d'Or is a fantastic hotel in a terrific location. Surrounded by amazing cafes and right next door to the Marais district, it was the perfect spot. The staff were more than accommodating with all our requests and the room was clean and welcoming. The thing I DO NOT recommend is booking on Hotels.com. They were extremely difficult to deal with. After contacting them 30 times or more over the course of 2 weeks to try and change my reservation that I had made 8 hours previously, they eventually told me they couldn't help me. After contacting the hotel directly, everything was cleared up within minutes. DO NOT USE Hotels.com. Use any other booking service or book through the hotel directly. Hotel de la Herse D'or is lovely and worth it.

4th stay, wonderful hotel

This was our 4th stay here and it never disappoints. The location is wonderful, only a few yards from the metro. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

Excellent little hotel near Bastille. Good connection links all round the city. Lots of restaurants very close to the hotel. Including several cafes for breakfast. (We didn’t opt for breakfast at the hotel as it’s cheaper and nicer to eat out) The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. The room was compact, but very comfortable and perfect for our two night inter-railing stop over. Easily walkable from Gare de Lyon, good connections via Bastille by metro and bus. Right next to Le Marais - great shopping and traditional Parisian streets and away from the uber tourist areas around the Eiffel Tower and Champs-Élysées. I would happily return to this hotel.

I had a very nice 4 night stay at ths economical hotel in Le Marais district. It is convenient to shops, bistros, Bastille metro station, and bus lines.The staff was friendly and helpful. They even got me into my room 2 hours before the scheduled check-in time. My room, on the 6th floor, was neat, clean and quiet. They have been updating the accommodations over time. On my last day there they were beginning to remodel an adjacent storefront to enlarge the reception space. There is a elevator and the a/c in my room worked just fine at the end of July 2025. A few minor cons: First, the electric sockets in my room were rather inconveniently located, either under tables or halfway up the wall with nothing close by to put my phone on while charging. Secondly, the double bed in my room had two single mattresses, the raised seams of which ran right down the middle. I don't take up a lot of space or move around a lot when I sleep, so it wasn't that difficult to avoid the center. Finally, there is the doorless shower, which we Americans always puzzle over, but it is something I've experienced in a number of other European hotels. All of these points were very minor in my opinion and didn't detract too much from a very enjoyable stay.

Decent place near Metro

Nice hotel close to two metro stations and lots of restaurants. Area felt safe. Proprietor was friendly and helpful. Lockers available for storing luggage if needed. Surprisingly not much road noise. Walls are thin so earplugs still helpful. Had a twin room which was comfortable and not cramped. Bathroom was tiny but that’s very common in Europe. I was able to walk to the river and many of the main sights. I would definitely stay here again.
