Checked in after 7pm and discovered my room’s only window looking into the car park behind the building and provides excellent visibility into the room. The car park is just an open space, so anybody can just come up to the window. You can cover the window, but there’s not enough light in the room to make up for it. Overall very creepy and feels unsafe. I asked the virtual front desk to be moved to another floor, but manager Ally said that there’s nothing she can do. Just moments later I realised that I did not have any toiletries in the bathroom, called the virtual front desk again and was told that the toiletries are on the way but no timeframe. And that’s when I found an Amazon box with somebody else’s belongings in my room. I called the front desk again (3rd time)... Manager Ally said that I am overreacting and it’s just the owner’s things. I really don’t care whose box it was; there’s no reason for anybody’s things to be in my room AND not have any soap to even wash my hands. I asked the manager if she can offer anything to make up for these problems, and at first she said no but then got angry and said that if I leave right this second, then she’ll reimburse me. I left and asked for the reimbursement through hotels.com, who tried to reach out to Ally and she apparently denied ever agreeing to a reimbursement.
Imagine flying for 10 hours, driving for 3 more, and arriving to a hotel room with somebody else’s things and no soap. Wow.
