Dosappointed Stay at this Location

I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn Express hotels and have always had a good experience, but unfortunately, this particular location was a big disappointment. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by a friendly and attentive front desk attendant, which gave us a good first impression. However, things quickly went downhill from there. As we walked to our room, we noticed the hallways were noticeably dirty—there was visible dirt on the carpet, and it didn’t look like it had been vacuumed that day. When we got to our room, it was uncomfortably hot. So disappointed. Reviews were good but i will never stay in this hotel again anywhere. Looks like possibly renovating a little at a time.Rooms were fairly updated and elevator rooms were painted. Breakfast area looked new. Pool room smelled, fixtures looked dirty and hot tub was almost brown. Service was fair, not rude but not overly pleasant. Breakfast ok. Outside looked worn down.

Front desk clerk was unpleasant and unhelpful. We called 3 prior to our arrival to request a change from king room to 2 queens. Clerk was rude, short and argumentative. She said “I wasn’t the one who made a mistake “. I told her it wasn’t a mistake and that our granddaughter was now with us. She was so rude I just hung up. Our Granddaughter slept on the floor. We came back from dinner and the same clerk was arguing loudly with a man on the phone. We could hear the customer on the phone. They were calling each other names. A homeless man we had seen earlier was hanging around the check in desk with her. We have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express’s. This was run down and shabby. We will NEVER stay there again. For 270.00 I expected better.
