Excellent stay in family home overlooking river

We had an incredible stay here, highly recommend. Family home, staff are attentive and responsive and very helpful. Unbelievable views from the balcony overlooking the Douro river and the valley. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom was giant and parking behind a gated fence so very secure and safe. Great breakfast that comes included and nice lounge area to relax in over a glass of their welcome port. Overall, we loved our time and would absolutely be back.

Despite a no-pet policy, the guest house is crawling with cats, on chairs, in window sills, 3 in the dining room at breakfast. My husband has a severe cat allergy and did not sleep during our 2 night stay. Like all clever cats, they sensed his allergies, and even jumped onto his seat and curled up under our table when he served himself coffee at breakfast—the cats could not be avoided. This absolutely needs to be made clear on the listing. Otherwise, a nice property with welcoming owners. If you love cats, it’s the place for you!

Fantastic

We had an amazing stay. Although we didn’t get the best view over the Douro from the room, the hotel itself it’s stunning and from the garden you get amazing views. Loved seeing the cats following us, very cute. Definitely worth the visit and we will be back again next year ❤️

Lovely casa

The setting is beautiful and tranquil. It’s 10 mins away from the train station so that we took a train to Pinhao for wine tasting. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very helpful. We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area next time!

The pool area is very pretty. Very large rooms/huge bathrooms. Very clean and very convenient to the rain station. Very good value because Douro hotels can be expensive.

Rooms were spacious with views of Duro River. Nice grounds and pool area. Breakfast was okay would enjoy some oats/grain, a bit more sliced fruit variety, jam for toast. Walk to river is a very steep down and up, if you have mobility concerns I would drive down to the river and park. There are cats at the property we enjoyed the two, they are inside and out. Staff were great and we would recommend staying.
