This place has that unique old Spanish building quality that is so charming and endemic to California. Gorgeous tile, metalwork, and such. Only drawbacks were somewhat flat, “bag of sand” style pillows on the beds, quite low water pressure in the showers and oddly small toilets. Otherwise very comfortable place with an amazing bakery next door, and very close to restaurants, a beautiful park, and bars and shopping. Also the staff are incredibly cordial, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They let me keep my luggage behind the counter in the lobby after I’d checked out, and the guy behind the bar was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the area.

Heart of the Egg Capital

Historic hotel in the center of a very interesting city. Egg capital of the world, in the day. Our room was on the 5th floor which requires an elevator ride to the 4th floor and schlepping bags up to the 5th. Not a problem for us, but some folks may consider it. Charming lobby with that cool old historic vibe. Restaurants nearby within easy walking distance. No onsite parking, but street parking is free, just beware of the time limits. Reception explained it.

Small hotel in a great location. Rooms and spaces are a bit dated. Funny smell in the entry courtyard, and lobby which they should probably take care of. Great little coffee shop/bakery off the lobby.

Hotel itself is beautiful with a very cute courtyard, nice bakery, and the on site restaurant was delicious too. Parking is street-side and not terrible to find, but I didn't see that in the listing, so just a head's up. The room was good, with some quirks, but nice and comfortable. There were some surprises like 5am trash pickup in the alley out back the first night, fire alarm going off on the second night, and water main work happening that all made me feel like this is a quirky historic hotel, and that is just part of it. All that said, I would stay here again.

Beautifully well-preserved and maintained building. Though updated to modern standards, rooms and public areas honor the historic building. Friendly and attentive hotel staff. Centrally located for the best of downtown Petaluma and the river and riverwalk.
