This was our third stay at the Crooked River Lodge. The pleasant surroundings, friendly staff, and large, clean rooms remain the strong points. However some of the furniture in our room, although charming, was worn and probably needed replaced or refurbished.
The big disappointment was the included breakfast. When this property was owned by Staffords, one of the great pleasures of the Crooked River Lodge was its hot breakfast. Since the sale to new owners, it has been replaced by a "continental breakfast" that is no more than what you would get at any cheap, roadside chain hotel. (We noticed that they still had the hot breakfast choices posted on the wall -- perhaps a souvenir of better days?)
I hope the new management can reverse the noticeable decline in what used to be a truly extraordinary lodging experience.
