I enjoyed my stay here. My room was clean. The hotel was quiet and I felt safe. Only issues I had during my stay was the tub not draining properly and no bottled water available in the building. The mobile key was a little annoying too but didn’t affect the quality of my stay.

Queen Village is a vibrant neighborhood with great walkability. The Sonder was in a great location, and the room was spacious. I was surprised there wasn't a kitchenette based on staying in other Sonders, but it was nice to have a fridge. Very modern building, and the luggage storage was easy.

No staff so this was N/A really. Room was large and smartly finished but shower was luke warm and a bit feeble. Air con just seemed to sit at 69F regardless of what we set it to. A shame really as these 2 points slightly let down an otherwise very good hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the property. The security is definitely top-notch because you have to enter your code to get into the building, then again in the elevator and then your room. Parking was a bit sketchy because there are spaces right outside that only gave guidance for during 9a-9p time window so unclear if overnight is allowed (we gambled and were fine). Security on site said they had no idea about parking legality near the property. No close restaurants to walk to were open after 9pm so plan ahead for that. The facility was nice and clean and it has two bars - one is a really nice rooftop area. Unfortunately, we did not realize either existed until this morning when we went to check out. The location of the hotel in proximity to Citizens Park was OK though we might not stay here if going there again unless it was a day game since we like to dine out after.

Disappointing

I stayed at the Sonder Hotel from July16-20, 2025. This location was located at 628 S. 5th Ave in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The room was musty, and I had to bat away gnats and flys the entire stay. The second floor was very humid compared to the other floors that I visited for comparison. This is probably the reason for the excessive number to gnats and flys that I had to compete with. With these varmints it was very hard to eat or have drinks in the room. When I arrived I could not gain access to the hotel. I begin to wonder if this was really a hotel. There was not access to the hotel unless you downloaded the SONDER app. When I downloaded the app I was prompted for the confirmation.The confirmation number I was using was incorrect. Fortunately, I maintenance person was beginning his work shift and allowed me access. Still trying to figure out where and how to check in was very confusing. Eventually, a person that was sitting in an office came out to assist me. She told me that the confirmation number that I was using was a third party confirmation number and that would not work. She found my reservation and provided me with a room. This room was not to my expectations. This room was smaller than my dormitory room back in 1983. This room had a bad odor coming from the refrigerator; the coffee maker brewed coffee grounds in the cups with every cup of coffee I made; the shower took 15 minutes to warm up to a warm temp.

Meh. Not a fan of the unstaffed "sonder" concept.

No hot water for first day of stay. Ceiling dripped water in bathroom the entire stay, despite someone interrupting an afternoon nap to supposedly fix it. There is no one to complain to, just an app chat function which was pointless when there is no staff onsite. I would have left and found another place if there would have been someone to give me a refund.

It was totally easy to key in the code and get into the building and the elevator and the room. Lots of good food options nearby. Easy and convenient to store luggage in the basement.
