OK but with a Glitch

This is an older hotel in the historic district. Our stay would have been fine except that the heat wasn't working and the room was missing a curtain. Both of these were quickly corrected when reported the morning of our second day but those are things that I expect to work on arrival.

It was not very well cleaned. It felt like they didn’t throughly clean the room before we checked in. There were crumbs on the counter. The shower smelled like mildew. We were also under the impression breakfast was included but it was not. Instead, there was a very understaffed restaurant.

Meh hotel, GREAT location

Decent overall hotel, and in an EXCELLENT location in Old City. It was one of the more affordable hotels in the area. The bartender was pretty bad. Forgot my drink, gave me the wrong sauce for my wings, talked excessively loud and complained about other bartenders and waitresses. It was awkward to listen to, especially considering my mom (who I brought with me) and I are both long-time bartenders/waitresses, so we were slightly offended at some of the things she talked about. We only had some wings, and were okay. The hotel restaurant advertised "Sysco Ice Cream," which was weird and made me feel like their food was probably mediocre. Who advertises a restaurant supplier as the brand for their dessert? Beds were comfortable and clean, but the pillows smelled like an old hat. We had a beautiful view of the Christ Church steeple. We could hear other hotel guests talk in the hallways and their rooms from inside our room, though. We felt very safe in this hotel. You need a room card to even access the upper levels of the hotel, and I was happy with the valet, as it was a cheaper price than most of the others in the area.

Decent hotel going downhill

This hotel used to be a decent reasonably priced choice in the Old City area. The hotel has gone down a lot. Only one elevator working. Kind of seedy in the rooms. Limited hours for eating. People at the desk are still very helpful and parking is great.

Disappointed as there was no hot tub or pool to relax in after walking the city. Lack of communication with some of the staff. Never indicated that there was no pickup shuttle from the airport.

Will book this hotel for my next visit to Philly

The staff in the dining room and front desk was very friendly and helpful, as was the concierge. The room was large with a comfortable bed and plush towels. My only issue was that the room seemed chilly despite my upping the thermostat. The hotel location was very convenient, a fairly easy 8 block walk to convention center, except in the pouring rain and close enough to art museums that the taxi cost was minimal.
