This is an airport motel. For instance, the shuttle is simply the airport's own shuttle, which makes regular stops there. Our room plainly had been recently renovated, and it was in excellent condition. Six other rooms were being completely renovated, which suggests the motel takes maintenance seriously. It is in a sort of industrial-warehouse district. In general the accommodations were fine. For instance, there were no hot foods at the breakfast, but a typical array of muffins, cereal, coffee, etc. In all, we were quite comfortable.

The property is under construction which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. It is so quiet and the new sections are really nice and clean. Thr new look is fresh and inviting. We did not hear the construction and they were doing their best to contain the mess. Staff was super nice and airport shuttle was easy and on time!

During checkin the staff required that my wife also bring in a photo ID to ensure she was not from the Phoenix area. Their ridiculous rational was that they were a hotel airport only. Also, there is no elevator so if you are traveling internationally or going on a long trip with large luggage, be prepared to wrestle your bags up the stairs.

First room we were given RM#222 smelled of Ammonia unbearable. We did get another room without a problem that didn’t have the odor. They are renovating the property currently.

A MOTEL with a nice room
Despite the name, the “SureStay Hotel” is a MOTEL. So if you don’t mind walking up outdoor stairs, exposed to the elements with heavy luggage (and back down when you leave), you should have a nice room. The clean room was recently updated from floor to ceiling with modern and comfortable amenities.

This property is in a really terrible part of phoenix, its basically skid row...it was the only place i saw homeless people and junkies hanging around. I tried to cancel once i saw where it was at but could not. I stayed and the room was very clean, all was fine with that but there was a tremendous amount of construction going on at the hotel as well, all the rooms were being remodeled so there was nail guns going off in the rooms around me as well as jackhammers and all sorts of other loud noises until about 8:30pm. It was quiet at night and i had no trouble but i would not stay there again due to the location and all the vagrants.
