Bed linen not changed.

Unfortunately I was checked in to a room that the bed linen was not changed. I reported this the next day and asked for clean linen but no accountability or apology. Disappointed!! The hotel itself is lovely. An error or just bad housekeeping !!!

Value for Money

Easy access from Picton Ferry terminal. Had to park around side on gravel because car park was full, not that it was a. Issue, only on luggage wheels. Stair and lift access to rooms. Small king size bed, slept well enough though. TV could only access one station, all other services were unavailable. Large room, clean and tidy. View glimpses of water and harbour. We had continental breakfast included but ordered and paid for extra shot cappuccinos, which we could not drink because they were far to hot and the large cup weakened the flavour of coffee.

Picton Yacht Club Hotel is clean and conveniently located. My suite (402) apart from the bathroom was very spacious. The heated towel rack was a nice touch. And now for the negatives: there are no bedside tables. There is no light switch near the entry door. From certain parts of the bedroom the clear glass, uncurtained bathroom window aligns perfectly with the floor to ceiling windows of a nearby restaurant but fortunately not when in the bathroom. To exit the hotel I and guests in some other rooms have to walk along an external corridor with a door at the end. One evening this door was locked and couldn’t be opened meaning I had to use the open air fire escape stairs to exit the building. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened. Another evening there was no lighting in the external corridor. I would not stay there again.

Great affordable clean property. My room was right next to restaurant- do if my balcony curtains or doors were open - ZERO privacy. Only negative was not being able to have curtains drawn open at all.

The room was dated, dirty and dingy. Shower head and pressure were awesome, but the shower water literally hit the toilet and the shower head was very low. The shower grout was mouldy and mildewy. There was something gross splashed up a wall, and the ceiling was dirty or mouldy or both. The bed was so uncomfortable; mattress springs felt like barbed wire and was probably manufactured in the 1990s. The duvet was discoloured (the duver inner was yellow, placed between two sheets). The room had new carpet, much appreciated since the floor was more comfortable than the bed, but the walls and doors need some fresh paint. The room smelt like old smoke and was musty. No air con and it was very warm in the room; was supplied a pedistal fan, which was loud. Dated I can live with, but dirty is just not cool.

Coming off the ferry (running late) for a one night stay we had a friendly reception that gave the basic highlights of our stay. The room was clean and modern with direct access to the pool, and the bed was very comfortable. The only criticism would be the restricted car parking on our side of the property and the limited choices of menu options available from their new menu (5 choices but only 4 available).

On our way home, on the ferry back to wellington, a staff member rang to say they found a bracelet left behind in our room. I had not yet missed it! It was an expensive bracelet, gift from my husband and they couriered it to our home address. It was waiting for me when we arrived home, i was overjoyed. That's just great service, thank you!

Nice location andview of the harbour, but the place could use some sound proofing and more secure room doors. The doors are very flimsy and don't fit properly, light comes in all around it, which also means you hear everything in the hallway. I could hear every door open and slam close starting at 3 am. My room was across from the elevator access door which probably made things worse. Also, some better patio furniture might be nice, just 2 basic office chairs, no table. The patio's are shared. On the good side, the bed was comfy.
