Our check in was pretty good. We paid for parking and were able to leave our car in the hotel garage. Aside from the fact that the hotel only offers cleaning service and fresh towels every OTHER day under the guise of being environmentally conscious, which is a scam as they charge the same high prices. The room looked pretty nice when we checked in. The only thing I can fault them for is the lack of a vanity mirror in the bathroom or otherwise. This detail is pretty consistent in most hotels. Food options in the area were a bit questionable and inconvenient due to a lot of construction but that was not the fault of the hotel. Beds were not very comfortable and pillows were quite weak. Shower was pretty disgusting as the drain backed up repeatedly while trying to shower, filling the tub with murky water and requiring one to shut the shower for a few minutes and wait for the drain to empty. Then, shivering, one could then try to quickly rinse off before having to shut the water and wait again for the tub to drain. When checking out, the hotel worker did not ask about our stay or seem to care, so I mentioned that the drain was clogged in the shower and filling repeatedly with water. Lacking both caring and compassion, she merely said she would let maintenance know and handed us our bill without another word. Wow! I really felt special as a guest and will be sure to let family, friends and colleagues to avoid this Hilton Garden Inn for their visits to Pittsburgh.
