Our stay was fine, the complimentary breakfast good except there were 2 observations that we had to bring to management: first- the hotel room has a coffee maker but no complimentary water was provided. The response was that the expectation is we use the water from bathroom sink. I’ve never stayed at a hotel with that expectation; second - the housekeeping staff did not clean our room even though we indicated that we wanted this done. When we alerted the front desk, all the housekeeping staff had left for the day.

The front desk staff were attentive and professional. The room was clean and had a lot of space to lay out a suitcase. Breakfast was good with very friendly staff. We had stayed at Hampton Inn the night before and the property and staff at the Holiday Inn Express far exceeded the Hampton Inn. I wish it was closer to the heart of Pittsburgh so I could stay every time I visit.

Everything was good except the people staying in the room above us had 6 kids and they made too much noise early morning. Disturbed our sleep. Hotel management should fine such people for creating disturbances.
