Not our first rodeo but our last

If it's just a clean place to rest your head, this is the place. If you prefer one that is quiet, friendly, and offers a decent continental (or hot breakfast & coffee) keep looking. Check in was fast; no niceties, but fast. The luggage carrier was broken and difficult to maneuver. The room was comfortable and clean. The neighbors behind our headboard did have a number of small children who ran, trampolined, and screeched. I called the front desk and asked for another room. He said no rooms were available and he would come up. 15 minutes passed, and - without hearing anyone come by our door - the jungle gym antics were on replay. My husband called the second time, w/o the politeness, and the situation was resolved for the most part. And while we did not report it, the door to our room was jamming to the point that we had to kick it open and practical slam it closed. We did not say anything, as our hosts never spoke to us otherwise. As for breakfast, the "pancake machine was broken," much to all children's dismay. But as the pancakes are thin, and raw on the inside (at both HIE) we've experienced, no loss. Still the breakfast Marion only needed to post a sign instead of standing over it to inform patrons, while announcing which items were already gone, with an hour to go on the breakfast schedule.

I'm sure this place was at a time worthy of 4 to 5 stars. It has all of the makings but they've let it go down significant. Rooms are dimly lit, sockets are loose, and some areas like the bathtub looked like they hadn't been cleaned in some time. The foot stool had quite a lot of stains, the bedside table also had stains and was not cleaned well. For that matter, anything that was along a wall or corner was not cleaned for some time. The pool as well was questionable at best and looked run down along with the rest of the place. Thankfully no bed bugs... Not to mention the pics did not line up with what was shown. No shower stall was included. And I went from a king sized bed to a double queen after reserving the king sized room. The staff was also very unfriendly. From breakfast to night, the only smile I got was when I was leaving from the morning staffer. I was even asked by cleaning crew to check out an hour earlier than the checkout time. At one point this did look like a good hotel, but now its shabby, run down, lighting is dim to hide all of the grime, staff is rude and the front desk could care less. Maybe this is good for pittsburgh, but I've been to better places for the price per night.

Nice hotel

We arrived after midnight (which I had given notice to the hotel), and was happy to have been welcomed by the person at the desk. The room was great, very roomy. The floor was quiet. There were a few things I will say is that needs attention are as follows: the coffee maker wouldn’t work. It would turn on but not brew the keurig cups provided. There were no coffee cups, only plastic cups. The table lamp’s switch was missing. My husband figured out how to turn it on. Other than that, it was a nice stay. I would recommend staying here.
