Converted YMCA, so rooms are spacious. No kitchen other than a fridge, but otherwise, a great find. Close to shopping and local library is next door, if you just want to get out of the building.

Would Love to Stay Again

Vibrant area, with lots of shops and restaurants. There is a city parking lot behind the hotel. No technology problems. Great bar in the lobby. The rooms are very quiet. There was a huge boisterous wedding on the first floor and we couldn't hear a peep in our room.

I booked it last minute. The check in was easy and fast. Everything clean, set up for the guests. I needed to print a paper for work, there was a work station in the hallway with 2 monitors and a printer. I was able to connect wirelessly and print it. I loved large windows and decoration of the room. There was a small electric kettle and a microwave in the unit. I loved my stay and will come again. And the old building it’s in is gorgeous. Staff is nice and helpful.

The Maverick is a very cool, stylish hotel in a fun area of Pittsburgh. We enjoyed the spacious room with its huge windows and great views. The only drawbacks that we saw were the lack of a coffee maker (just an electric kettle with instant coffee), a VERY firm mattress (not good for arthritic hips), and a tv that was only operable with a phone app that we never figured out. With no breakfast or coffee provided in the lobby, you need to take a walk in the morning to get anything. Hey Babe (the restaurant and bar located on the first floor) was very fun and had the best crispy potatoes we have ever had! How about using that space to serve a Continental breakfast?
