housekeeping non existent. Had to restock TP, soap, towels ourselves from front desk. garbage never emptied from room. Room was very minimal. Woken up by noise of upstairs neighbour walking in room.. ie poorly insulated. Would never stay here again

If you want fleas and dog hair all over your sheets, its the place to be.. We were given a room on the first floor and as soon as we layed on the bed at night, 2 fleas came out jumping. (I do not own animals). This is a pet friendly hotel which I wasnt aware of. There was also a door connecting to the next room and we could hear every conversations people had on the other side. It also felt like an elephant was walking above us because the floors were so thin. When I saw the fleas I asked the front desk to switch rooms immediately (employee was nice and agreed to show me a diff room at least), but since the hotel was pretty much sold out that night, all that was left was a room that was currently being renovated and not as nice as the one we booked. The new room had a very strong odor (soaps in men's urinal type of smell). There was no blackout curtains, only cheap plastic blinds. The sheets were covered in dogs hair even though they were supposed to be clean... They also had a fruit fly problem, they were all over the lobby and in both rooms. At this point we just gave up, slept and got the hell out of there next morning. Since we booked with expedia, the hotel couldnt do more for us so it wasnt worth trying to deal with management the next day. At least the bed was comfy and we didnt get any bites, but man was this room overpriced for what we got. Would not recommend this hotel unfortunately. :(

The bathroom state wasn't good at all, with a bad smell even if it was clean. Otherwise, the rest of the room was very acceptable. Excellent service by the staff, good breakfast and pool very appreciated for the kids.

After booking the hotel and reading the reviews, I got worried and considered canceling and finding another place. However, the stay turned out to be better than expected. The hotel was undergoing renovations, so the exterior looked dirty, and the hallways, carpets, furniture, and even the beds all needed updating. Despite this, my family slept comfortably without any noise or disturbances. The breakfast was very disappointing, but overall, the stay was cheaper than what other reviews suggested, which was a positive aspect.

Unfortunately the water was turned off when we arrived, due to renovations. The couch had a steel bar sticking out of it that my son hurt his ankle on. The room we stayed in had no cover on the smoke alarm. No clue if it was functional. There was a fire alarm that went off at 2:20am and we were evacuated ftom the building. No explanation or discount given the next day. The breakfast was poor and unsanitary (ie to make toast, everyone had to put their hand in the same plastic bag yo obtain bread. No tongs available). No fruit, muffins croissants or individual breakfast foods available. Will not stay nor recommend La Quinta Plattsburgh, NY.
