Everything was ok. Customer service 5/5. Aai called the front desk about something and they responded immediately until the issue was resolved. Food was okay (a bit repetitive), beach was not as nice and clean as I had thought as I have been to Playa del Carmen before and I had different expectations. Room had a bit of a musty smell. Also there was lots of construction going on so only one buffet was open.

After 4 consecutive years going to same hotel, this year have been a disaster. Sunset was closed for construction and we arrived 15 days before Gran Riviera closed.Personnel were short, everyone with bad mood waiting for their lay-off, people without experience doing the jobs. Only 2 restaurants open. They closed the buffet in the middle of the stay (new buffet in Sunset is a disaster, no smoke exhaust, leaks, no signs on food) From our check in (Ana) without any customer service, give us a room next to the utility room (24 hrs noise) saying that it was the only Platinun room they have, not true. Our Silver status in Expidia gave us an Spa access for 2. The Hotel Spa was closed and was replaced by a cabana. The Never honoured. Expedia representative was never on site The other colleagues said he was on vacation. Expedia never disclosed the construction, gave us a Boucher for facilities closed and didn't respond our complains. Thousands of dollars for not maintance room, poor food and poor service. No personnel to clean. Also they closed the Platinun bar on the beach!! DISASTER!! Never again to any Princess hotel.

I checked out early on October 26th and the resort agreed to refund my unused night for October 27th. However, Expedia has refused to process the refund, even after the resort confirmed approval and stated that Expedia needs to contact them directly by email. I’ve spoken with both sides, and the resort has done everything required — Expedia simply hasn’t followed through. This experience has made me lose trust in booking through Expedia, as they have not been honest or helpful in resolving this matter.

Stayed 4 nights to celebrate our Anniversary, had a wonderful time. Staff was amazing from Eduardo at check in to Daniel at the Platinum bar. We had no issues booking 4 reservations through the app. Food was absolutely amazing. The resort is undergoing renovations however did not feel it impacted our stay in any way. Evening shows and live music were very entertaining. Our room was wonderful near the beach, very comfortable mattress and great pillows. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily and mini bar was always well stocked. Can't wait to go back

Beautiful room, enormous hotel grounds. Extremely difficult to get dinner reservations even with 2 days notice. Buffet was well stocked with many options (thank god). Beach access limited, small area ocean floor not friendly to feet. Will need water shoes. On the plus side seaweed was limited.
