The prop was okay. When we booked there was no mention of the hotel being closed for renovation. We stayed on the family side, no mention of that when we booked, we asked for our rooms to be next to each other, the staff made it seem like that was impossible when in fact the rooms were side by side. The seaweed was a nightmare!!! The hotel should have a barrier our in the ocean to block it from coming on shore. It can be done, hotels north of where we were are doing it. Brenda from BDX was AMAZING!!!! If you want to book excursions she is who you want to help you.

So we actually stayed at the Platinum Yucatan Princess as we were told that our original accommodation (Sunset Laguna Villa Suites) were being renovated. This was only 24 days before we were due to travel from the UK. In fact the entire Sunset part of the hotel was shut for renovations including a proportion of the pools and grounds. We were entirely happy with our accommodation and the hotel and we could have used the main Sunset / Riviera had we wished to. The only downside was that we booked the Laguna Villa as we wanted to avoid loud late night corridor noise (too many people with too many drinks inside them) as we had last year when we were also in the Sunset. Sadly our - very nice room in the Yucatan - was off a corridor so we were woken up most nights at some point or another. Food and service were excellent as per last year with only one (out of fourteen) off night where the restaurant seemed to be having some issues.

great property- Unfortunately there was a lot of reservation and the gym location was changed half way into the stay - because of renovation. There was no notification of this prior to travel and during the travel. along the shore of the beach- there is a lot of rocks and seaweed- even when you walk 10 feet into the water- there is a lot of rocks. Its best to bring beach shoes to enjoy. The french restaurant on the resort is not that good. Besides those experiences, the resort and the employees are amazing and provided top not services. Overall I was very pleased and happy to celebrate my birthday there.

I must say that Norma and Johnny made this trip amazing. The best hosts i have ever experienced. The other staff was also very good especially the concierge desk. I misplaced my backpack with our passport in it and they had found it in 20 minutes and i had no idea where it was. (I thought someone may have taken it by accident or not) but those two were insanely helpful and kind and becsuse of this we will be certainly coming back to this resort. Food was pretty good and the room service alfredo was surprisingly delicious. I would recommend upgrading to the platinum. Very peaceful and sitting on the deck hungover in a jacuzzi is quite nice if you are older and can't handle it like you once could.

This property started construction early and this was not communicated. Extremely disappointing. We were told half the resort would be shut down 1 week prior to showing up (only because we reached out to them), but that construction wouldn’t start yet. Green barriers over the whole resort took away from the beautiful views. You could hear them tearing down the villas all day. The food was also subpar. You would think the reservation restaurants would serve better food, but we had better food options at the buffets (which still was not good). Entertainment was ok. If you are looking for a place to lay by the pool and not much else, this it the place for you. If you are looking for good food or any additions, I would look elsewhere.
